Who We'd Recommend to: We typically don't read comic books, but it seems like anyone who likes comics would love this fantastic series!

About Cartozia Tales (from the website):
Each issue of Cartozia Tales  will feature stories by nine indy cartoonists. Each of us will be bringing his or her separate ideas, imagination, and drawing style to the world that we're sharing. Every issue will be full of surprises, and no one knows where the stories will wind up.

Cartozia is not quite like any other fantasy world. We might have griffins and goblins, but we've also got vicuñicorns, phibbits, and the Loutra-Merre. And we've planned some secrets that will only be hinted at for the first few issues.

Thoughts: These were really fun reads! I've only ever read one comic book - El Deafo - and even that wasn't too different from what I typically read. But in my entire life, I've never read something like Cartozia Tales, which I loved, since many of the books I've been reading lately have been... conservative, I guess, in that they don't offer fresh new takes on their genre. This was definitely not the case with Cartozia Tales.

Wrought with wit and creativity, Cartozia Tales is an enjoyable, innovative comic book series. For whatever reason, something about the fantasy world reminded us of Alice In Wonderland. The publisher described this series as being a great introduction to the Indy comic book genre for kids, which I would definitely agree with. Throughout each of the comics, the story flowed nicely and didn't feel like too much of a stretch from novels, which was extremely helpful for me. But really, the best part about Cartozia Tales is the profound creativity and humor - the entire time, I was engaged because this series' voice easily appeals to kids. Cartozia Tales honestly feels like it was written by a (very skilled!) fellow kid, since the fantastic creativity this series was written with was always present.

Overall, a fantastic series that I'd highly recommend for kids of all ages!

Disclosure: I received free copies of the first nine issues in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. All thoughts are my own.

Sounds like very fantasful and creative comic books. I also don't read comics, but yu make it sound so unique and interesting that I would be tempted to get one and read it.
