Rating: High Five

Who I'd Recommend it to: Fans of Harry Potter, Heroes of the distant planets series and other fun otherworldly books.

Synopsis (from Amazon): Jibbawk rises to dominate the planet Lan Darr. He rules with an iron fist and without mercy, building his empire larger and faster than all other Shadic planets. But it isn't enough. He dreams of becoming one of the fabled Immortal Rulers, no matter the cost. Only when resistance comes from the least likely place, a teenager from Earth, does he see his authority challenged.

Thoughts: When I read the first book in the Heroes of the Distant Planet series, I thought it couldn't get any better, but now here I am reading Immortal Shadow and eating my own words. This  book blew me away! Normally I don't like prequels, but this book was an exception. It explained the mysterious  world of the Shadics and their empire, and shed more light on Hubbu travel - which uses Hubbu pollen to take you to other worlds - along with Lan Darr and its inhabits.  Then, Anderson Atlas goes on to explain how Jibbawk is defeated and turns into beatles. Together, all these details made this book outstanding.

Overall, this amazing adventure book that Anderson Atlas wrote blew me away.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own.
