Rating: High Five

Who We'd Recommend to: Fans of Peter and the Starcatchers, fractured fairy tales, and the Whatever After series.

Synopsis: With mayhem brewing in the Big Apple, Conner and Alex will have to win their biggest battle yet. Can the twins restore order between the human and fairy tale world?

Olivia's review: I have to be honest, I was a little bit disappointed with this book. I've been keeping up with the series since book one, and have loved every single book progressively more as the series went on, but this one was a bit of a let down. That's not to say I didn't still love it and fly through it in a day - there was just a little bit of the usual magic in the series that was missing. That said, this was an incredible finale that I would highly recommend. This book is a real page-turner. In addition, I loved getting to see how each character's story ended, since many were highly anticipated (like what happens to Froggy). In general, though, I think the best part of this book is the beginning and the end. This really knocked the whole thing out of the park, making this one of my favorite book endings ever. The creativity is really what made it special; I've never seen anything like it before. Overall, a really great book that was originally a bit of a let down, but has a spectacularly memorable ending.

Oscar's review:  When I reread the first book in the Land of Stories series this year, I thought how much this series has adapted and evolved from the first book to the last. I thought about the characters and how they grew, and how it seems like  we, the readers, have been actually reading about growing, changing people - Alex and Conner.  When I finished the first chapter of WORLDS COLLIDE, I thought to myself This can't get any better. But I found myself saying the same thing after each chapter. Chris Colfer kept me on the edge of. my seat, always making me think I knew what was going to happen, but always proving me wrong.  He also added amazing twists such as (Spoiler), being able to get out of the magic mirror by helping someone. Overall, this series, from beginning to end, is amazing.

That's too bad you didn't enjoy this one more. It's always disappointing when a book in a series doesn't live up to your expectations. At least the rest of the series was good!

We're going to start reading this series soon, so hopefully we'll love it as much as you did.
