Thoughts: This book is superb. I love how Karl Steam is able to keep crafting new and exciting places for Josh and his three classmates to have their adventures. I also enjoyed how the rivalry between two of Josh's classmates, Melissa and Katie, continued in the third book in the Kids vs. Nature series. For example, Katie just wanted to play on the beach all day, while Melissa wanted to find water, build a shelter, and get food to eat. A final thing that I liked about Surviving Horse Island is how it isn't only a fun, funny book to read, it also teaches about how to actually survive in the wilderness and the diffrent animals. Overall, I loved, this fun, exciting, amazing, superb book.
