Who We'd Recommend to: Fans of Peter and the Starcatchers, fractured fairy tales, Keeper of the Lost Cities and the Whatever After series.

Synopsis (from Amazon): Claire Martinson still worries about her older sister Sophie, who battled a mysterious illness last year. But things are back to normal as they move into Windermere Manor . . . until the sisters climb a strange ladder in a fireplace and enter the magical land of Arden.
There, they find a world in turmoil. The four guilds of magic no longer trust each other, the beloved unicorns have disappeared, and terrible wraiths roam freely. Scared, the girls return home. But when Sophie vanishes in the night, it will take all of Claire's courage to climb back up the ladder, find her sister, and uncover the unicorns' greatest secret.

Thoughts: This book was stunning. I loved how Kamilla Benko combined beautiful scenery, fun, interesting characters, and exciting action all into one book. I loved, loved, loved all the amazing, creative powers in this book. For example, controling plants and controlling metal. I also loved Claire - the main character - and Sophie's - her sister - conection. That no matter what happened to them or what each other did, they still stay best friends and sisters. Another thing that I admired about Unicorn Quest was Thorn. I loved Thorn because he was the most interesting character in the book: you never know what he's going to do or what his motives are. Overall, I loved this stunning, beautiful, fun, interesting, creative, amazing book.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own.
